GTIE DEMO day FY2022 was held at SHIBUYA QWS (Shibuya QWS) Scramble Hall on Friday, March 3, 2023.
The event was held both in real and online, and was attended by many people, including GTIE-related and supporting organizations, as well as the general public, with approximately 150 people in the hall and 200 people online.
The event featured high-level pitches by 17 teams selected for the GTIE GAP Fund 2022, and the Grand Prize was selected after rigorous judging by a panel of judges.
The top prize in the Global/Unicorn Course was awarded to Mr. Shinji Ikeuchi of Tokyo Medical and Dental University ( *1), and the top prize in the Standard Course to Mr. Tsukasa Koike of the University of Tokyo ( *2), with the two teams receiving trophies.
The judges commented that the high level of all the teams made the judging difficult, and the event was a reminder of the potential of university seeds.
In the Keynote Lecture, Ranmi Suzuki, President and Representative Director of Moderna Japan, Kazuo Tsubota, President and CEO of Tsubota Labo, Inc. and Mirai Hirano, Representative Director and Co-CEO of Cinnamon Co. They gave passionate messages to university researchers and supporters of start-ups.
After the pitches, researchers from the GAP Fund adopted teams and members of GTIE-related organizations and support organizations engaged in active exchanges, providing a meaningful networking opportunity for the creation of an ecosystem.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone who helped make the event possible.
