GTIE SEP 2025 Meetup #2 - The first step for startups to take on the global challenge - will be held.

The Greater Tokyo Innovation Ecosystem (GTIE) is a platform for universities and research institutions in the Tokyo metropolitan area that aims to nurture entrepreneurial talent and develop university-based startups that will change the world.

As part of the “GTIE Student Entrepreneurship Program 2025” (GTIE SEP 2025), an entrepreneurship education program for students from 14 universities participating in GTIE’s Entrepreneurship Education Program, a Meetup event will be held following the kick-off on August 21! The event will be held on August 21, 2012.

This year’s event will feature lectures focusing on startups and entrepreneurs who are active on the global stage, and a workshop where participants can experience a U.S.-style pitch event. We look forward to seeing you there!

– Speaker Profile
Mr. Mitsuru Igarashi (CEO Simplex Global, Inc. / UC Berkeley SKYDECK Ambassador) After graduating from UC Berkeley in 1989, Mr. Igarashi joined Solomon Brothers, an American investment bank, where he was involved in trading operations. In 1997, he started Simplex Technology (now Simplex Holdings) with five other partners. The company has gone through two IPOs, including an MBO, and is currently listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s Prime Market. He currently serves as a senior advisor to Simplex Holdings, Mr. Nakamura is currently engaged in startup support through Berkeley SkyDeck Advisors and Great Circle Advisors, while also serving as a senior advisor to Simplex.

Mr. Yoshitaka Nakamura (Co-Founder & CEO, Dwilar/UC Berkeley Haas MBA/Berkeley Skydeck Alum) Mr. Nakamura joined Toyota Motor Corporation as a new graduate. He joined Toyota Motor Corporation as a new graduate and was in charge of parts procurement in the Intelligent Informatics Planning and Procurement Office. He then moved to P&G. He was in charge of budget forecasting and management, DX projects, and the launch of new offices. Moved to the U.S. West Coast to obtain an MBA at UC Berkeley, Based on his own experience as a foreigner, he founded Dwilar, Inc. which provides cross-border credit services.

Mr. Kenta Takada (Founder & CEO, PLUS IMPACT Pte. Ltd.) After working for Marubeni Corporation, Mr. Takada founded a food delivery business in Myanmar. He raised a lot of funds and expanded the business, but withdrew due to the military coup in 2021. After returning to Japan, he engaged in entrepreneurship support at 500 Global and STATION Ai, and is currently managing an EOR platform specializing in human resources in developing countries and an AI x HR service.
