INDEST Study Session "Failure Starts Unless You Give Up: Starting a Business and Research in the Gut Microbiome Data Network"
Dr. Takuji Yamada, founder of Metagen, which has attracted attention for its microbiome business, will be speaking at the event.
Based on his research theme, “Big Data Analysis of Human Indigenous Bacteria,” Dr.Yamada founded Metagen, Inc. and has since founded three companies: digzyme, Inc. In particular, Metagen Therapeutics, which promotes the social implementation of “microbiome drug discovery” and “intestinal microbiota transplantation (FMT)” by building an intestinal microbiota bank, achieved a “Series A financing of 1.7 billion yen in total” in June. The company has achieved an unprecedented achievement as a university-launched venture. Dr. Yamada has been a pioneer in opening new doors for university-launched ventures in an unprecedented environment. Dr. Yamada will talk about his path to start a business and the key points of his breakthroughs.
