GTIE Junior High and High School Student Idea Contest now accepting entries!
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has launched the “EDGE-PRIME Initiative” to expand the scope of entrepreneurship education and is working to expand entrepreneurship education opportunities for junior high and high school students.
In this context, the Greater Tokyo Innovation Ecosystem (GTIE), a platform for “fostering university-launched startups that will change the world” consisting of universities and other organizations mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area, is promoting the expansion of entrepreneurship education for elementary, junior high and high school students in the Tokyo area. GTIE (Greater Tokyo Innovation Ecosystem) is promoting the expansion of entrepreneurship education to elementary, junior high and high school students in the Tokyo area, and will hold an idea contest for junior high and high school students.
A step toward changing the future does not start with a grand plan, but rather with a small “realization” that is right in front of our eyes. This Idea Contest is a great opportunity to give shape to such “awareness” and present it.

[Eligibility ]
Junior high school students, high school students, technical college students (1st to 3rd year), secondary school students, and students enrolled in the second semester of compulsory education.

Discovering and solving problems.
*Find an “issue” around you and think about how you can solve it by using your free ideas and imagination.

[Selection and judging criteria ]
(1) Intelligence and skills
The applicants have attempted to discover the issues and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills (are they related to their own knowledge and experience?).
(2) Thinking, judgment, expression, and novelty
Did they generate new ideas by asking questions, gathering information, organizing and analyzing it?
(3) Initiative
Are you trying to realize a better society with your own ideas?
(4) Publicness and sociality
Do you envision bringing value to society as a whole, not just to a specific area?
(v) Feasibility
Is the idea necessary to realize the idea considered, and is the applicant willing to try to realize the idea by his/her own hands?
