Announcement of Startup Academia Meetup Vol.1
The “Innovation Design Platform (IdP)” was launched by four universities participating in the Startup Ecosystem Tokyo Consortium (Tokyo Institute of Technology, Keio University, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, and the University of Tokyo), and aims to foster the development of a global startup ecosystem in Tokyo and other regions, together with various external partners and other platforms within the consortium. The Innovation Design Platform (IdP) aims to nurture and foster a global startup ecosystem in Tokyo and other regions.
We will hold a meetup to create an environment where university-launched ventures can be born by strengthening the network of information sharing among related parties in the IdP ecosystem.
In the first meeting, we will invite Mr. Katayose, President and Managing Partner of Tokyo University of Science Innovation Capital Corporation, which is the VC of Tokyo University of Science, and has developed the number of university-launched ventures into the No.1 private university-launched ventures. We will hold a study session on the support system for academic entrepreneurs and mentoring.

After completing his graduate studies at the Tokyo University of Science in 2003, he worked for Dai-ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company (currently Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company) and studied abroad in the U.S. (seconded to a U.S. asset management company) before joining Goldman Sachs Asset Management, the asset management arm of Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
He was mainly involved in alternative investments and structured finance investments.
Since 2015, he has been in charge of venture support for Tokyo University of Science Educational Corporation.
Ltd. to support the Tokyo University of Science’s venture capital business.
He also serves as Special Assistant to the Chancellor of Tokyo University of Science Educational Corporation.
In 2018, he became the Representative Director and Managing Partner of Tokyo University of Science Innovation Capital Corporation, a university-accredited venture capital firm.
