University-launched startups are expected to solve various social issues facing Japan by implementing advanced intellectual property and technology possessed by universities. In this session, we will introduce the initiatives of “Greater Tokyo Innovation Ecosystem (GTIE)” in which various universities including the University of Tokyo are participating to “foster university startups that can change the world” and discuss the formation of an ecosystem to foster and create university startups that can compete on a global scale. The discussion will be focused on the formation of an ecosystem to nurture and create university startups that can compete globally.
