On November 18, 2023, SBMC Junior Business Idea Presentation and Exchange Event was held at the Toyosu Campus of the Shibaura Institute of Technology.
This presentation event was a pitch event by junior and senior high school students, and was the first event hosted by SBMC Junior, a part of the startup support program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. A total of 45 junior and senior high school students (16 teams) from four schools (Shibaura Institute of Technology Junior and Senior High School, Shibaura Institute of Technology Kashiwa Junior and Senior High School, Yamawaki Gakuen Junior and Senior High School, and Showa Women’s University Junior and Senior High School) gathered at BOiCE (Bay Area Open Innovation Center) on Toyosu Campus The students presented their business ideas at the BOiCE (Bay Area Open Innovation Center) at the Toyosu Campus.
SBMC Junior is a new entrepreneurship education program for junior and senior high school students based on the SBMC (Shibaura Business Model Competition), a business model competition organized by the Shibaura Institute of Technology. This program is expected to strengthen cooperation between junior and senior high schools and between junior and senior high schools, and to deepen “inquiry-based education” in junior and senior high schools, with the aim of fostering future entrepreneurial talent.
SBMC Junior is a GTIE (Greater Tokyo Innovation Ecosystem) ( https://gtie.jp/about/ ) in which Shibaura Institute of Technology participates as a joint organization, and has been adopted by the EDGE-PRIME Initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and JST. The program will be implemented by Shibaura Institute of Technology as a part of GTIE (Greater Tokyo Innovation Ecosystem) ().
