Participants Wanted】2/28(Wednesday)19:00〜 INDEST Student Cafe - Let's Talk with Entrepreneurs - Part 2: Mr. Yu Yamashiro, CEO, Jij Co.

INDEST is an incubation office operated by Tokyo Institute of Technology on the Tamachi campus. Under the concept of “fostering university-launched startups that will change the world,” various events are currently being held.
The second edition of INDEST Student Café, a popular cross-talk between entrepreneurs and students, features Mr. Yu Yamashiro, CEO of Jij Corporation. Mr. Yamashiro founded Jij Corporation after conducting research on quantum annealing at the Tokyo Institute of Technology Graduate School. He is approaching the “combinatorial optimization” needs of various industries to quickly find the best answer among large scale combinations of delivery routes, shift assignments, and so on. JijZept™, a cloud service for mathematical optimization and development process support, was developed with the vision of “creating an OS for society. It is attracting a great deal of attention as a platform for non-specialist developers. Mr. Yamashiro will talk casually about how he started his business, the balance between research and social implementation, and making entrepreneurial friends. His navigator is Yu Chinen, a second-year student in the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences at the School of Information Science and Technology. He is interested in solving social issues through mathematical optimization technology, especially educational disparities, and is currently considering starting his own business.
He is currently thinking about starting his own business. He is interested in starting his own business, rethinking his future career, or considering social implementation of his research.
Please look forward to a cross talk between these two men, who grew up in Okinawa with a 10-year age difference and are pursuing entrepreneurship to apply their research expertise to society! We look forward to seeing you there!

-Guest: Mr. Yu Yamashiro, CEO of Jij Corporation: Born in 1994 in Okinawa, Japan. While engaged in research on quantum annealing at Tokyo Institute of Technology, he participated in the JST-START project. As a result of this project, he founded Jij Inc. Jij Inc. has developed JijZept™, a cloud service that supports the development process of mathematical optimization from formulation to implementation and evaluation while supporting cutting-edge technologies such as quantum technology and Ising optimization computation technology. Navigator: Yu Chinen, 2nd year student, Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences, School of Information Science and Technology, Tokyo Institute of Technology: Born in 2003 in Okinawa, Japan. He specializes in combinatorial optimization. He participated as a member of the Tokyo Tech team in iGEM, a global event for presenting ideas based on synthetic biology, and was in charge of data analysis as a dry leader in iGEM TokyoTech 2022 and sub-leader in iGEM TokyoTech 2023. In iGEM TokyoTech 2023, he was in charge of external relations in addition to technical contributions as a sub-leader. He is currently exploring ways to apply mathematical optimization technology to social issues, with a particular interest in educational inequality, and hopes to start his own business.
