GTIE exhibited at CES 2026

Greater Tokyo Innovation Ecosystem (GTIE) exhibited at CES2026 (Consumer Electronics Show) held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA for four days from Tuesday, January 6 to Friday, January 9, 2026.

CES is a global tech conference attended by approximately 140,000 people each year, where major technology companies and start-ups from around the world present their latest technologies. It is a historic trade show organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) of the U.S. In the past, the focus was on consumer electronics such as TVs and video games, but in recent years it has evolved into a gathering place for a wide range of technologies that go beyond consumer electronics, including drones, EVs, and humanoids. In recent years, the fair has evolved into a gathering place for a wide range of technologies that transcend the boundaries of consumer electronics, including drones, EVs and humanoids.

In addition, this year’s megatrends announced by CTA are 1. Intelligent Transformation, 2. Longevity, and 3. Engineering Tomorrow.

GTIE exhibited at the JAPAN TECH Pavilion in the startup area “Eureka Park” in the CES venue, and two teams from the GTIE GAP Fund Program participated from GTIE.
Tsuyoshi Takaya (Assistant Professor, University of Tsukuba)
Satoshi Miura (Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tokyo University of Science)

The two teams exhibited the results of their research as demonstrations of their actual equipment. The Takatani team introduced “SpecularInspect,” an inspection technology using light reflection. The Miura team brought in a demonstration of their “iFeel Haptic Device,” a device that reproduces the sense of touch, which visitors were able to touch and experience firsthand.
The GTIE booth was a great success, attracting approximately 750 visitors over the four days.
In the excitement of Eureka Park, the efforts of GTIE and the technologies and challenges of its researchers reached the world during the four days.
