Announcement Regarding the Selection of Recipients for the WISER GAP Fund for Fiscal Year 2026

WISER (Women In Science Excellence and Revolution) has selected 10 projects from a total of 26 applications for the fiscal year 2026 GAP Fund (link: https://gtie.jp/en/news/45185/) following a rigorous review process.

This year, applications were received directly from young female researchers with diverse backgrounds—including those affiliated with 18 universities in Japan and abroad, one company, and entities other than universities and companies (including individuals)—resulting in a collection of challenging research ideas spanning a wide range of fields.

The recipients of this year’s GAP Fund were selected from research seeds spanning a variety of cutting-edge fields, including resource engineering, dentistry, science and engineering, pathology, mathematical sciences, chemical engineering, and medical systems. All of these are ambitious projects that transcend academic boundaries to address social challenges and create new industries, and they are expected to serve as the seeds of technologies that will pave the way for the future.
