Waseda University has been implementing the Overseas Study Program in collaboration with GTIE (Greater Tokyo Innovation Ecosystem), which is positioned as one of the GTEI-SEP programs, in FY2024 in collaboration with the University of Melbourne Business School (MBS). The program will be implemented in collaboration with the University of Melbourne Business School (MBS) in FY2024.
This program is designed to provide young entrepreneurs who aim to develop their businesses globally, as well as student entrepreneurs in preparation, with opportunities to acquire entrepreneurial skills at an international level and build networks with overseas startup companies, young entrepreneurs, VCs, angels, and others through an overseas study program. From FY 2018 to FY 2022, students were dispatched to Israel, but in light of the local situation, the program has been dispatched to Melbourne, Australia from FY 2023. This year, too, students affiliated with the lead/joint institution(*) participating in the GTIE Consortium are eligible to apply for the program.

EAGLYS Corporation (winner of the Japan Venture Awards 2019 Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Director-General’s Award, etc.), cellid Corporation (selected as an adopted company for the second phase of the “Startup Demonstration Experiment Promotion Project (PoC Ground Tokyo)” sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in FY2022, etc.), Urth Corporation, and others. Many of the past participants of this program have achieved remarkable success after participating in the program. We hope you will join us for this very valuable learning opportunity, as the program is structured in such a way that it will not be a dream to actually start a business.
In order to participate in the overseas training program, you are required to apply for participation in BootCamp (English training camp), and are also encouraged to participate in other programs in Japan (business model building and finance). Programs related to business model building and finance are also open to those who do not wish to participate in overseas training.
