Held on Saturday, July 25! “GTIE-SEP 2026 #2: Everyday Inconveniences and Problems—Starting with Needs-Based Ideation: Generating Ideas and Building Teams”—Now Accepting Student Applications!
The “Greater Tokyo Innovation Ecosystem (GTIE)” is a platform comprising universities and research institutions in the Greater Tokyo Area that aims to develop entrepreneurial talent and foster university-based startups capable of changing the world.
This fiscal year, GTIE will once again host the “GTIE Student Entrepreneurship Program 2026,” an entrepreneurship education program for students at the 18 participating universities. A variety of training programs planned and operated by GTIE member institutions—including the annual Lean Launchpad Program and overseas training sessions—are scheduled, so please look forward to them.
The second GTIE-SEP session for the 2026 academic year will be held this coming Saturday, July 25. We’ll engage in brainstorming sessions to generate business ideas and work on developing the mindset needed to start a business—all with the goal of seriously considering commercialization.
Why start a business? How can you actually start one? “Startup” is a term we hear often these days, so it might feel like we know what it means, but in reality, there’s so much we don’t know.
As a first step toward realizing a better society through “entrepreneurship,” this workshop will guide you in generating ideas based on the inconveniences, challenges, and needs you encounter in your daily life. Through this process, you’ll discover the joy of thinking and acting independently, as well as learn the mindset required for success.
This workshop is designed to serve as a stepping stone toward the Lean Launchpad training program, for which applications will open soon. If you’re ready to take your first step toward turning your idea into a business, we encourage you to join us.

• Speaker Profile
Takashi Tsutsumi, Representative Director, Startup Brain Co., Ltd.
He operates a seed accelerator that fosters startup investment and growth by leveraging commercialization processes. His strength lies in providing management support that blends over 20 years of experience in launching new businesses and venture capital investment—gained at a general trading company, in Silicon Valley, and at domestic VC firms—with expertise in commercialization methodologies such as the “Customer Development Model.”He holds a degree from the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo University of Science and an MBA from McGill University. His translated works include *The Entrepreneur’s Handbook*.
